Remington's Nick-names...

*Reme -- derived from your name, shortened.

*Duckie
-- because in one of the first ultrasound pictures we had of you in utero, you resembeled a little duck with plumage atop the head. Your face was turned towards what looked like a duck's preening feathers at tail's end.

*Son-shine -- because Daddy sings a special song for you, all about you being his Son.

*Little Him -- this moniker came about because someone was talking to you about your Dad. They said: "we know you love Him (meaning Daddy)." After that, I started calling you "Little Him."

*Squeaker -- from Aunt Joyce because you squeaked at her every time she picked you up.

*Little Man -- from Daddy whenever he sings to you or says loving things to you.

*Cuddle Bug
-- because you snuggle with Mommie whenever she burps you or whenever you are sleeping in her arms.

*Mommie's Tigger -- because as you are learning to walk and crawl you either get on your hands and knees and rock back and forth in a bouncing motion OR stand up and bounce, bounce, bounce. Also, you enjoy being bounced on the bed, or in your Exer-saucer. Sometimes you will stand on the couch, holding on to the back of the couch, me or Daddy and bounce away!

*Speed Racer -- because as you are crawling you move lightening fast!!!!!

*Mister -- Daddy started calling you "Mister" after you turned one year of age because you are maturing so fast. It is a nick-name that came about quite by accident...Daddy was trying to spit out Little Man, but somehow the words Mister Man came out and then got shortened to 'Mister.'

*Lil' Tornado -- because you are a whirlwind! You are interested in EVERYTHING and get into EVERYTHING...and as my adventurer...I think it is wonderful!

*Haaaaamm Sanwich -- because you have an amazing sense of humor!!! This nick-name started when you were 18 months old. You have the funnest personality!

July 19, 2010 -- Four Month Check-Up...

Pictures Bottom to Top: "M-i-c-k-e-y M-o-u-s-e!," "Peek-A-Boo," "That's All Folks!"~~~Dear Duckie: Today was your 4 month check-up. It is hard to believe that it has been 4 months already, but the changes in your growth completely make me a believer! You weighed 12 pounds 13 ounces. You were 24.5 inches long, and your head circumference was 16.2 cm. In terms of weight, you are right on track, nearly doubling your weight by the 4th month as you should.

You were happy and you cooed, gurgled, and talked with your Doctor -- and you only fussed a little after getting pricked by the shot needles.

Additionally, the day was a great day because you remained happy despite some hurtful shots (you received second doses of many plus your Tetanus). The picture of you with Mouse ears was taken shortly after you got home from your Pedatrician's. You were smiling even though you didn't feel quite well! All I can say is that you are a great kid!!!

Love Forever and x Infinity,

Mommie.

My Lil' Cub...

Pictures Bottom to Top: "My Lil' Cub," "Heads-Up, 7-Up"~~~Dear Little Him, these pictures were taken on July 8th. On this day Mommie had to go through your Newborn to 3 month old clothes and sort them so they would not be intermingled with the clothes that fit you. I can't believe how much you've grown. You are longer and heavier in the infant carrier, which amazes me. Each day you add new skills to the repertoire of things you can do...you are sitting up with less bobbing, and raising your head. You still hate being put in a 5-point harness and so when you are in your swing or your carrier you lift up your head. It is a wonder to see.

I still feel like you are my special gift. I often say that you are the "love of my life." It was a 10 year adventure to get you here, and now I feel, I will have life-long adventures and happiness because you are a part of my world. I told Grandma Halverson once "Mom, I am too busy to be depressed." Each day that I get to hold you, see you smile, watch you play, hear your laughter brings more joy than I can express. You most definitely ARE the "love of my life."

Love Forever and x Infinity,

Mommie.

July 4, 2010 -- an Unforgettable Evening...

Pictures Bottom to Top: Daddy and Remington Snuggling, Daddy and Reme Watching Fireworks, Sparkly Fountain, Glowing Fountain (all were taken July 4,2010 in Tooele, Utah).~~~Dear Duckie: Tonight was your very first Fourth of July fireworks celebration...Aunt Cheryl and Uncle Jeff came over to ensure it was a very special evening. We started out having yummy dessert (brownies and ice cream) and then went outside to light off fireworks. Daddy purchased a small kit that contained fountain sparklers (nothing to loud or whistle-y for this year). Aunt Cheryl and Uncle Jeff brought some neat fountains and Mommie's favorite -- the oriental flowers (they remind me of colored and moving Pac Men ghost's). You didn't cry or get fussy; in fact, you were riveted by the beautiful lights. It was so much fun to watch you enjoying the light display. I feel so fortunate that I got to experience this moment in time with you.

Love Forever and x Infinity,

Mommie.

Independence Day!

Dear Remington: Your first Fourth of July celebration was a success! You were delighted by the positive static in the air all day. I think you were anticipating the forthcoming firework show that Daddy had planned for you...you cooed, giggled, and babbled all day long. I was so happy to see you having such an amazing day. Your energy rubbed off on Mommie and all I could think of was this very energetic song:

"You're a Grand Ole Flag, You're a High Flying Flag
And Forever in Peace May You Wave
You're the Emblem of the Land I Love
The Home of the Free and the Brave

Every Heart Beats True for the Red, White, and Blue
Where There is Never a Boast or a Brag
Should All Aquaintence Be Forgot
Keep Your Eye on the Grand Ole Flag!"

The song makes Mommie very, very happy. I am feeling so fortunate to have you in my life and to be an American, where we have freedoms and opportunities that are unavailable in other countries. We are truly blessed!

Love Forever and x Infinity,

Mommie.
