Remington's Nick-names...

*Reme -- derived from your name, shortened.

*Duckie
-- because in one of the first ultrasound pictures we had of you in utero, you resembeled a little duck with plumage atop the head. Your face was turned towards what looked like a duck's preening feathers at tail's end.

*Son-shine -- because Daddy sings a special song for you, all about you being his Son.

*Little Him -- this moniker came about because someone was talking to you about your Dad. They said: "we know you love Him (meaning Daddy)." After that, I started calling you "Little Him."

*Squeaker -- from Aunt Joyce because you squeaked at her every time she picked you up.

*Little Man -- from Daddy whenever he sings to you or says loving things to you.

*Cuddle Bug
-- because you snuggle with Mommie whenever she burps you or whenever you are sleeping in her arms.

*Mommie's Tigger -- because as you are learning to walk and crawl you either get on your hands and knees and rock back and forth in a bouncing motion OR stand up and bounce, bounce, bounce. Also, you enjoy being bounced on the bed, or in your Exer-saucer. Sometimes you will stand on the couch, holding on to the back of the couch, me or Daddy and bounce away!

*Speed Racer -- because as you are crawling you move lightening fast!!!!!

*Mister -- Daddy started calling you "Mister" after you turned one year of age because you are maturing so fast. It is a nick-name that came about quite by accident...Daddy was trying to spit out Little Man, but somehow the words Mister Man came out and then got shortened to 'Mister.'

*Lil' Tornado -- because you are a whirlwind! You are interested in EVERYTHING and get into EVERYTHING...and as my adventurer...I think it is wonderful!

*Haaaaamm Sanwich -- because you have an amazing sense of humor!!! This nick-name started when you were 18 months old. You have the funnest personality!

Channeling the 80's Rocker...

Reme: Daddy got you ready for bed on this night and put your socks OVER your legs to help keep you warm. I laughed sooo hard because to me, you looked like a member of one of the 80's "Hair Bands." You "rocked" the look despite Daddy's fashion faux pas.

Love Forever and X Infinity,

Mommie.

P.S. These pictures were taken when you were 11 months old.

Future Hockey Fan?

Dearest Son: One of Mommie's favorite sports to watch is Hockey! I remember going with my Mom and Step-dad to see the Golden Eagles when they were a Utah team. As an adult, I often will attend Utah Grizzlie games. I can't wait to take you to a game and teach you the little bit I know about the sport. I hope you will enjoy this activity as much as Mommie does!

Serious...

Reme: You are such a happy-go-lucky little boy that it surprised me a little when I captured you in deep thought. Sometimes you will get quiet and think and at other times your pointer finger goes to your lips and you babble a little...but you are always aware of your surroundings and any thing that is new. On this night, we had changed some things around in your play room, you seemed mesmerized!

Spidey...

Little Him: I believe in Super Heroes and think you are one of them.

Laughter, the BEST Medicine...

Reme: You are such a happy boy! I am pleased about that. You indicate how happy and joyful life is through the laughter you make. Your laugh comes from your belly and your heart and makes Mommie's toes tingle! I am always fascinated when I hear you when you are giggling -- sometimes you will inhale deeply before you laugh; and, at other times you will squeal in delight. I adore this!!! I am constantly smiling and have happiness in my heart because of you! I adore you and you are the ABSOLUTE LOVE OF MY LIFE
!!!

Playing @ Month 10...

Remington: One thing you really like to do is "re-organize" everything in our house! You help Mom with the pantry, and you even re-do your toys. One of your favorite forms of re-organization is piling all of your toys onto your Little Zoomer Raceway to make the track stop. It is really interesting to watch you move your toys from the toy box to your track or to move your snacks around in Mom's pantry. I like that you do this, it shows imagination. I can't wait to hear you explain why you do some of the things you do. You are perfect in everyway...don't ever stop being who you are or need to be to please others, including Mom. I am here, not to mold you into a "mini-me," but rather to guide you to good choices that allow you to have a happy, fun, and productive life.

10 Months -- Furniture Walking and Pitching, and Diving...

Pictures Bottom to Top: "Furniture Walking," "Walking Round the Table," "Readin' Up," "Little Tornado." ~~~Reme, you are so much fun I can't stand it!!! You make me laugh and smile countless times each day. I love that you are an adventurer and "explore" (i.e. get into everything)! I try to let you discover as much as possible with litter intervention unless it would be something unsafe because I don't want to stave your curiosity. Watching you at play, I know that you have the right demeanor to accomplish anything you desire. Mommie will do everything I can so that you can meet all of your dreams.

Trying New Things...

Remington: You really wanted to eat like Mommie and Daddy, so we started you on some soft foods. For this meal your menu was macaroni salad, avocado, and kiwi fruit. You were 10 months old when the pictures were taken.

Snow Suit for a Grand Snow Day (12-30-2010)...

Dear Reme: So many people have supported and loved you, even from the time you were growing in Mommie's tummy. One of my friend's, Stephanie, has been one of those special individuals and a loving part of your life from before she first felt you kick! She got you this adorable snow suit because she knows of Mommie's passion for Winter and Skiing. The first day you wore it was at the end of December. You and I were playing in the snow while watching Daddy shovel the driveway and walks. You didn't quite know what to make of all of that powdery soft stuff! What an adventure! Although I am not quite certain you love the snow, I hope you will grow to love it someday.

Reme: These photos were taken during snack time on December 26, 2010. You are such a happy kid! I adore that quality in you. Mommie thinks you are the bestest little boy anyone could ever have, and I can't resist taking your picture when you are so darned cute.

Remington Christmas Morning...

Son, I love these pictures, especially the picture of you with your hands in the air. You were soooo excited and happy. You had tons of energy and joy that it affected Mommie and Daddy in the most wonderful of ways. Our first Christmas together was amazing. We all had fun, practiced traditions, ate an amazing family meal, and enjoyed each others time and company. There was much love in our home and it was felt deeply.

Baby's First Ornament...

Remington: This picture was taken early Christmas morning after Santa had been at our house. It is of an ornament given to you by Mommie's friend, Glenda Bushnell. The ornament is a Snowman Snow Globe. It plays music and when it is turned on, the snowfall is highlighted by different colors. Snow globes are one of my favorite treasures, I just love them because they always seem to epict peace and serenity. No matter what the holiday that a snow globe represents, I am always reminded: "peace on Earth and good will toward Men" when I see one. I decided to capture the changing colors because I thought the change in colors and light was symbolic for the change and light one always seems to feel and see at Christmas time. It inspired me to try to act with kindness as much as I can and to try to do the right thing as often as I can...I hope I can share this ideology with you.

Christmas Morning 2-25-2010

Remington: These are photos that Daddy and I took Christmas morning after Santa Claus had been to our home. You have been such an amazing and good little boy. I feel so lucky that you are a part of our family. I know I say that a lot, but you mean more than life itself to me. I hope that the magic that Mommie feels towards Christmas can always touch your life.

Christmas Eve: 2-24-2010

Pictures Bottom to Top: "Opening Your First Present," "Reme and Daddy with the LOVE TREE," "Cooool Riiider," "I'm Too Sexy," "Mommie & Reme at Play."~~~Remington, your first Christmas Eve was filled with tradition, some old and some new. The newest tradition was The Love Tree. This is a Tree whereby we take the entire week before Christmas Eve to write all of the wonderful things we love about each other. Your Aunt Deborah came up with this fabulous idea and made the tree for us. On Christmas Eve we pull out heart-shaped paper and read what has been written.

Part of our family tradition is that you open a pair of new pajama's and one present on Christmas Eve. This year you opened a gift from Aunt Cheryl and Uncle Jeff (your Godparent's). You loved riding around on it and naturally lifted your feet and gripped when you were on it, that is why I got the pictures: "Cooool Riiider," and "I'm Too Sexy." You are so adorable!

Love Forever and X Infinity,

Mommie.
