Remington's Nick-names...

*Reme -- derived from your name, shortened.

*Duckie
-- because in one of the first ultrasound pictures we had of you in utero, you resembeled a little duck with plumage atop the head. Your face was turned towards what looked like a duck's preening feathers at tail's end.

*Son-shine -- because Daddy sings a special song for you, all about you being his Son.

*Little Him -- this moniker came about because someone was talking to you about your Dad. They said: "we know you love Him (meaning Daddy)." After that, I started calling you "Little Him."

*Squeaker -- from Aunt Joyce because you squeaked at her every time she picked you up.

*Little Man -- from Daddy whenever he sings to you or says loving things to you.

*Cuddle Bug
-- because you snuggle with Mommie whenever she burps you or whenever you are sleeping in her arms.

*Mommie's Tigger -- because as you are learning to walk and crawl you either get on your hands and knees and rock back and forth in a bouncing motion OR stand up and bounce, bounce, bounce. Also, you enjoy being bounced on the bed, or in your Exer-saucer. Sometimes you will stand on the couch, holding on to the back of the couch, me or Daddy and bounce away!

*Speed Racer -- because as you are crawling you move lightening fast!!!!!

*Mister -- Daddy started calling you "Mister" after you turned one year of age because you are maturing so fast. It is a nick-name that came about quite by accident...Daddy was trying to spit out Little Man, but somehow the words Mister Man came out and then got shortened to 'Mister.'

*Lil' Tornado -- because you are a whirlwind! You are interested in EVERYTHING and get into EVERYTHING...and as my adventurer...I think it is wonderful!

*Haaaaamm Sanwich -- because you have an amazing sense of humor!!! This nick-name started when you were 18 months old. You have the funnest personality!

Konked Out!

Reme: This picture was taken on November 10, 2011 after you and I had taken a stroll. We were trying out Daddy's jogging stroller, which has some nice features that Mommie's stroller for you does not. Towards the end of our hour walk, you fell asleep listening to Ave Maria. That song is so beautiful, and reminds me of the light and beauty that you have brought to my life. I hope that you always have an aura that shines strong, bright, and positive. As a family, may we always comfort and be there for one another. May your days be blessed and bright.

You Look Like Mommie...

Picures Bottom to Top: "Ooohhh, Poor Baby!," "Cryin's for the Birds," "Lookin' Like Mom."

On this day you are 19 Months old and you had a bit of a melt-down from which you recovered very quickly. You rebound so fast into a positive way of being and that is one thing I truly admire about your personality. The final photo "Lookin' Like Mom" is one in which I have a similar expression with my eyes closed. This is one of very few pictures where you look more like Mommie than Daddy; and the picture of mom with this expression will be added soon. Always remember, when trials abound, that not only do Mom and Dad love you more than life itself; but, you have a wonderful family who loves you and thinks you are special.

Snow Day, Part IV...

Remington, I just couldn't help myself...I HAD to publish pictures that would give you four parts to your first memorable Snow Day! I feel this was your first memorable Snow Day, because last year when I dressed you in your snowsuit, you didn't want to play in the snow, but preferred instead to sit to take it all in. This year, however, you really engaged in the snow and LOVED being outside in it! This Snow Day was special because not only was the snow light and powdery, but it was the first MAJOR snow fall of the Season (11-5-11). I am thrilled that you enjoyed snow-- I have a vision of you skiing with me someday, and if you hated snow I don't think skiing together would occur.

I love that you and I both love snow...may it be something that we always have in common.

Love Forever and X Infinity,

Mommie.

Halloween 2011

Pictures Bottom to Top: "Jack-O-Lantern," "Duckie and Daisy Mae (Oct. 31, 2011)," "R.E.K. as Duckie/Mommie as Duck Herder," "Reme as Duckie and Mommie as Daisy Mae (the Duck Herder)," "Remington and Rachel, Halloween 2011."

Remington: You were A-D-O-R-A-B-L-E as a little duck! I totally loved our theme for costumes this year -- Duck and Duck Herder.

Daddy carved your Jack-O-Lantern and drew the face on it free-hand. I thought it was a pretty cool Jack-O-Lantern and can't wait to see what he comes up with every year!!!

On Halloween, we first went to Macey's grocery store and trick-or-treated at each department. You were sooo cute -- you only took the smallest candy (the salt-water taffy) instead of the bigger bars, which only left you with four small morsels in your pumpkin carrier sooo since the weather was unseasonably warm, we then went to the Downtown Alliance activity which was to trick-or-treat at all of the businesses along Main Street in Tooele, Utah. You collected quite a repertoire of candy at this point ! Our third stop was to your Godparent's home and you didn't want to leave. Aunt Cheryl was dressed as a Vampire Queen and Uncle Jeff was a Beer Buddy. You were fascinated by their costumes and their many cats! Our fourth stop that night was to my good friend Aimee's home. She made sure you got true size candy bars added to your collection; and her husband Sterlin' fixed you up with an immediate chocolate fix. Suffice it to say, you did NOT want to leave and hooped and hollered because you bonded with Aimee and Sterlin' so much...you would only allow Aimee to hold you and put you in your car seat. Although I was mortified at the little melt-down, you were still darling! Our fifth stop was to Travis and Camille Bankhead, with whom Mommie works...they had the neatest yard decor. It was a cemetary and it sure was spooky! Travis carved special foam then he and Camille painted them to have a weathered and antique look. At their house, you were bozy and invited yourself in -- I guess there are no worries that you are a Vampire (who, as legend foretells, must be invited in), and although it was a bold move, it was adorable. You really took to Camille, and I feel she is a friend for life!!!! Our final stop was at the Hospital where Mommie works. We stopped by the E.R., the Medical-Surgical unit, and the ICU. You demonstrated that a duck says: "quack, quack!"

All in all, it was a really fun-filled night -- seeing good friends and observing you enjoying what is Mommie's favorite holiday made the memory awesome!

I hope you will always have good friends to turn to...friends who inspire you and love you for who you are.

Mommie.

Hammmm Sanwich....

Pictures Bottom to Top: "Really?," "Hammmm Sanwich," "Hardcore Playa," "Up,Up,Up."

Reme: These pictures were taken October 16th, 2011 -- two days before you turned 18 months. I just love that they capture some facets of your cute personality. You have a sense of humor, you love to dance to music, you are thoughtful, and sometimes you even give a bit of attitude. I adore every component of the things you do that make you YOU...you always make me proud; AND, you always make me smile. I love you so very, very, very much.

Trax Adventure: 9/23/2011

Pictures Bottom to Top: "Remington Riding Trax," "Riding Trax -- Ron & Remington," "Two Guys on a Train," "Daddy & Reme on a Train Trek," "Little Him Riding on a Train."

Reme:

We had such a fun adventure riding on Utah's light rail system, Trax. You really like trains and call them "Chugga-chugga" after the sounds that me and your Dad make when we plain trains with you. You loved looking out the window at all the sights as they flashed by, and you really liked being on the platform watching the trains go by as we were waiting for our particular train to board.

I hope that we can always do fun things as a family and make special memories. This day totally measured up to that hope.

Active @ 17...

Little Him,

I am so glad you are a rambunctious, active little boy. However, sometimes I am exasperated by it as I fear for your safety and well being. You really like to climb and you tend to pull toys to where they can assist you in getting to where you want to be. On 9-7-11, you pulled your bicycle over just so you could climb up and see the television and/or push buttons on it. These pictures show you as you are caught doing something you knew Mommie doesn't like you to do....thank heavens I finally realized that while you grow, the days may seem long, but the time is really short. I will always let you be who you need to be...

The Blueberries Won...

Reme:

At 17 Months, you still really loved eating blueberries. Need I say more?

More Photos From Our Zoo Excursion...

Reme:

Some of the special moments we had at the Zoo were: riding the carousel, spending time looking at tropical animals with Dad, getting some perspective (standing next to Elephant bones will surely do that, right?), posing with Daddy by old Elephant bones, and playing with Mommie....
