Little Him,

I am so glad you are a rambunctious, active little boy. However, sometimes I am exasperated by it as I fear for your safety and well being. You really like to climb and you tend to pull toys to where they can assist you in getting to where you want to be. On 9-7-11, you pulled your bicycle over just so you could climb up and see the television and/or push buttons on it. These pictures show you as you are caught doing something you knew Mommie doesn't like you to do....thank heavens I finally realized that while you grow, the days may seem long, but the time is really short. I will always let you be who you need to be...

Some of the special moments we had at the Zoo were: riding the carousel, spending time looking at tropical animals with Dad, getting some perspective (standing next to Elephant bones will surely do that, right?), posing with Daddy by old Elephant bones, and playing with Mommie....

First Zoo Visit...

Remington: We went to Hogle Zoo, in Salt Lake City, Utah on August 13, 2011. It was such a fun day. We spent much time watching the elephants, your favorite zoo animal at this time (16 Months old). Mom's favorite exhibit was the bats (thus the picture). You enjoyed the Iguana and the Giraffe exhibits, and all the sights, sounds, and people you encountered. I am glad we made this memory as a family!

Learning About Cause and Effect...

Your Dad and I had brought in your car seat for cleaning when you were 16 Months old. You were so curious about it, especially since it wasn't in Dad's car that you deemed it your personal expedition. Your curiosity made the day (July 31, 2011) a fun and interesting day for all of us. I hope you always want to learn, progress, and grow...I hope that you make small adventures out of everyday things, and I hope you genuinely love the life you choose.

You are a R.E.K., just like your Daddy! Your dad's full name is Ronald Eugene Koehler. When we were first dating, we compromised on names for our someday children...your Dad jokingly said: "You can name our kids whatever you like but I'd really like for them to have my initials so they can be a Rek like me!" So, since we wanted another "Rek" in the family, Mommie chose your special name: Remington Everett Koehler.

I hope that I can share moments of my life with your Dad in meaningful ways for you to know and remember. I want you to have the fullest conviction that you are loved, wanted, appreciated, and deeply cared for.

Learning New Skills...

Remington, for a 15 month old you sure loved trying new things and developed new skills quickly. You insisted on drinking water from Mommie's water bottle. It took a few tries, but it became a skill you mastered quickly!

Remington, you are SUCH a joy! I loved the Sleepy Pie photo of you because it depicts you falling asleep while eating. Although I prefer you to fall asleep during nap time and that you sleep in your crib, sometimes you play and practice learning; and, are seeming to absorb and process so much that you just konk out! This picture was one of those times. The June 18th photograph is about you being a little shy for the camera after eating breakfast. June 23rd is a photo about your love for blueberries...you just look so darn cute with blueberry stains on your face!!! All of these phases of YOU are amazing. I love learning about your personality and how your character develops day by day. You have so much to give others with your spirit and joy.
