Dear Little Him,
Three hobbies you have right now are photography, falls, and bubbles...the latter being one hobby that is often incorporated into your bath routine.
You were given Mommie's camera so you could practice taking pictures. Your viewpoint, what you photograph, is very interesting -- I want to save all the things you photograph so I can understand your special 22-month-old point of view. So far I am able to discern much about your imagination and artistry through your pictures. I am fascinated by your ability to figure out how to work an adult digital camera that required that I read the instruction manual to figure out. I think you are genius with all things technological and electronic. I have noticed that you take many things apart just to figure out how they work. I hope that I can find ways to keep you interested in all things technological as it will be knowledge that will propel your future to great things...
Your second hobby, falling, is not one I am a fan of. In the pictures of you bathing, you can see how badly you fell. The swollen bruised nose is a result of two accidents...one where you slid into the corner of the kitchen table, thus, scratching and bruising your nose; and the other where you lost your balance and hit your nose against your wooden shape sorter box. I felt horrible when I heard you cry and thought you broke your nose for the longest time. I continually try to remind you, as does Daddy, to "get your balance."
Your third hobby, bubbles is one by which you prefer to make and blow bubbles on your own. You like to take a wand for the tub and blow into the water, which makes this really cool glub, glub, glub sound.
I am thrilled that you have hobbies. I hope they will keep you interested and interesting your whole life through. Besides, I have learned that hobbies decrease one's chance of becoming bored -- I have never forgotten what a teacher once told me: "if you're bored, you are boring."
Son, I challenge you to NEVER be boring; to use artistry, imagination, and ingenuity whenever possible, and to always find the beauty, mystery, and intrigue in bubbles.
Love Forever and X Infinity,
Mommie.
